Welcome to Matchstick Cooking! This is a blog about home cooking and kitchen culture. I started this blog right after I got my first kitchen job after working in coffee for four years. Coffee opened me up to hospitality, food service and palate development. I learned to taste and to articulate those flavors while working in coffee. These skills inspired me beyond the café and into my own kitchen, as well as many restaurants and bars in Los Angeles. I wanted to learn how to taste and prepare food, and to taste and talk about wine. So that's what I set out to do! I walked away from the progress I had made in coffee to expand my own development, and this blog is the beginning of that story. This is a place for people who are in the industry, for people who are curious about the industry, and for anyone who likes a good story. Grab a glass of wine and cozy up, we’re in for a good time.
